Autism evaluations with Laura Lamonica, PMHNP-BC provide a comprehensive neurodiversity-affirming assessment of social communication, sensory processing, behavioral patterns, emotional regulation, flexibility, and developmental history.
The evaluation process may include a detailed clinical interview, developmental history, behavioral observation, standardized autism assessment tools, questionnaires, and review of available school, medical, psychological, or therapy records. Parent, caregiver, or partner input may also be included when appropriate (and welcomed from the patient).
The evaluation considers both current functioning and early developmental patterns. It also explores conditions that may overlap with or resemble autism, including ADHD, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, trauma, language differences, learning disorders, and sensory-processing concerns.
The goal is to provide diagnostic clarity while recognizing each person’s individual strengths, needs, and lived experiences. Following the evaluation, clients receive feedback and a written report that includes findings, diagnostic impressions, personalized recommendations, and appropriate school, workplace, therapeutic, or community supports.
Autism evaluations are available for children, adolescents, and adults.
