Her Approach to Evaluations

Laura believes a good evaluation doesn't just hand you a label — it hands you a map.

Every evaluation at The ADHD NP uses objective, validated tools: the Conners CPT for ADHD and the ADOS-2 for autism. Laura also screens for conditions that can look like ADHD or autism — including thyroid disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, OCD, auditory processing disorder, and dyslexia — because accuracy matters more than speed.

Every report includes either a clear diagnosis or a clear explanation of why criteria weren't met, along with recommended interventions, accommodations, and referrals. Because an answer is only useful when it leads somewhere.

Laura is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner experienced in ADHD and autism evaluations for children, teens, and adults. She is ADOS-2 trained and a certified ASD Evaluation and Intervention Specialist.

Her clinical background includes years at a pediatric psychiatric residential facility serving children ages 5–18, where she developed deep expertise in complex presentations across the neurodevelopmental spectrum.

She also served as a public school health specialist, working directly with students and families navigating 504 plans and IEPs — giving her a grounded understanding of how neurodivergence shows up in educational settings and what documentation schools actually need.

Her distinctive background in residential psychiatry, school-based care, and lived family experience brings a uniquely informed perspective to every evaluation she conducts.
