An ADHD evaluation is more than checking a list of symptoms. At That ADHD NP, evaluations are designed to understand how attention, impulse control, organization, working memory, emotional regulation, and executive functioning affect everyday life.
The evaluation process may include a clinical interview, developmental and medical history, review of academic or occupational concerns, behavioral observations, standardized rating scales, and computerized attention testing when appropriate. Information from parents, teachers, partners, or other collateral sources may also be included.
The goal is to determine whether symptoms are consistent with ADHD, identify the presentation and severity of symptoms, and evaluate for other conditions that may appear similar to or occur alongside ADHD, such as anxiety, depression, learning differences, sleep concerns, trauma, or autism.
Following the evaluation, clients receive individualized feedback and a written report summarizing findings, diagnostic impressions, and practical recommendations. Recommendations may include treatment options, executive-functioning supports, school or workplace accommodations, and strategies for improving daily functioning.
ADHD evaluations are available for children, adolescents, and adults.
