Autism Evaluations
Understanding how your brain works, or how your child’s does, with an evaluation that respects the whole person.
Our autism evaluation is a comprehensive, in-person assessment for children, teens, and adults ages 6 and up. It uses gold-standard diagnostic tools, a detailed developmental history, and input from people who know you well. You leave with a clear answer, a written report you can use, and a strengths-based plan for what comes next.
What’s Included
90-Minute In-Person Evaluation
A face-to-face appointment that includes a clinical interview covering development, social communication, sensory experiences, interests, routines, school or work, and medical and family history. It also includes a differential diagnosis assessment to distinguish autism from conditions that can overlap with or look like it, such as ADHD, anxiety, OCD, trauma, language and learning differences, and social anxiety. Many people have more than one thing going on, and we look at the full picture.
Gold-Standard Autism Assessment
ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition): a structured, interactive assessment of communication, social interaction, and play or imagination, with the module chosen to fit your age and language level. Your clinician is ADOS-2 certified.
ADI-R (Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised): an in-depth interview with a parent or caregiver (or another person who knew you in early childhood) about developmental history and current functioning. Your clinician is ADI-R certified.
Standardized rating scales: questionnaires completed by parents, the individual, and, for school-age clients, teachers.
Collateral information: school records, prior evaluations, and input from teachers, caregivers, or partners to show how traits appear across settings.
Scoring and Written Evaluation
All measures are scored and interpreted, and you receive a written evaluation with a score report that includes your results, diagnostic impressions, strengths, support needs, and individualized recommendations. Reports can be shared with schools, employers, and other providers as appropriate to support accommodations and services.
60-Minute Feedback Session
We review the results together in plain, respectful language: what we found, what it means, and which supports, therapies, and accommodations may help. There is plenty of time for questions and for talking through next steps, including school supports, workplace accommodations, and referrals.
